In 2005 the Torner´s room was opened, an art center conceived and designed by Gustavo Torner (Cuenca, 1925), where 40 pieces of his art work are being displayed –spcultures and paintings–, within the old St Paul´s Church, gothic building from the XVI century. The union of art and space has been recognized in the heritage prizes of Europa Nostra. Torner, next to Gerardo Rueda and Fernando Zóble created the conquense school, a first iniciative so as to show new tendencies in modern art in “the sixties”, they focused in the creation of the Spanish Abstract Art Museum in Cuenca in the Hanging Houses. |
